How does the class work?
We will have two in-person lessons at my home studio in Bedford in addition to a private online FaceBook group. The FaceBook group is where homework and questions that come up in between lessons can be posted. We work together and learn together. We will start looking at gear and move to understanding the basic concepts of photography. We’ll cover exposure triangle (aperture, F-stop and ISO) and how these affect your pictures. We’ll talk about the importance of lighting and what a difference it can make. We will also have a look at some ideas of composition and why it’s good to acknowledge these different ways of taking your pictures. There is no particular time you need to be online in between classes. I will be online every day few times a day to answer questions and responding to your homework assignments (yes there will be homework but it’s not mandatory - it is recommended though) and giving personalized feedback.
What do I need to take the class?
You’ll need a DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual mode. You will need access to Internet and a FaceBook account.
How much does it cost?
$250 Payment is taken at registration.
TESTIMONIALS - what people who have taken the course say about it
“I'm so grateful I was able to take Christina's photography class for moms! I've been wanting to learn more about photography for a long time but have been intimidated by all the settings and options. Christina is just lovely, as is her home where she hosts the class. She does a great job of breaking it down, making the information easy to understand and digest. I highly recommend her photography class for moms and hope to take another class with Christina so I can learn more!”

“I’m a designer and took college level photography courses (with very theoretical and abstract materials) for my major. With Christina, I was able to quickly grasp the concepts over a short period of time which was not the case back in college.
Christina’s course breaks down theory and technique for taking better photographs in addition to fun and easy assignments. Her presentation of information is easily digestible, and she provides extremely helpful and concise visual references with the help of which she broke down the process and ideas of photography.
Because of my background I’ve always felt hesitant of asking for help but I’m so glad I took this class. I have been shooting for years in all automatic modes, but Christina has given me more control over my images.

“Christina is one of the most talented, creative and amazing photographer's I have ever had the privilege of working with. She did an amazing job in putting all her patience, energy and creativity together for this photography class. It was a two-day session class where she provided us with the material and guidance on fundamental settings of the camera e.g. ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture, different lighting options, etc. The material she created for us also has sample pictures which was very helpful, which enabled me to see the impact of a certain setting change.
I am new to photography and absolutely had no idea how to operate the camera using a manual mode, she encouraged me and the group to take homework assignments. She reviewed our submissions and kindly answered all our questions patiently. During the review of the photographs she guided us how we could improve our photography skills by showing us different ways and techniques of taking pictures, how weather plays an important role while shooting. All this feedback was very encouraging, and I felt motivated to do better. Her working style was very warm, comfortable and she made us feel at home. I learnt from her that taking picture is an art of patience, practice and skills. She helped me in understanding my specific camera settings and also that in order to take a good picture I just need to understand my camera well. Once you know how your camera operates and its limits, you can take better pictures.
I truly have the highest praise and appreciation for all the work that Christina did for us. Thank you Christina for giving us your valuable time.”
